Feng Shui into Fengtion

I’ve always had the impression that real militants are like cleaning women, doing a thankless, daily but necessary job.

Do What Needs to Be Done

Feng Shui is an ancient practice of the placing of objects in a space. Feng Shui considers all forms of energy in a space. This is why when our homes are disorganized or cluttered we are not happy at home. The disarray is messy and messes with our vibes, so we seek entertainment rather than cleaning up our mess. We are all guilty there is no shame in this house.

Dirt, clutter, broken, damaged, and unused items produce bad energy. Negative energy can contribute to depression, procrastination, and other alignments in people. This is why regular dusting is important to keeping your energy up. Using an iRobot Roomba https://www.irobot.com/roomba to constantly keep the floor dirt down would save you time and energy. Some vacuums double as a mop, I strongly recommend these products because they can remove dirt and cleanse the floor saving time and energy.

Also, a quick response to mail clutter, throw it out weekly as a routine ( I decipher from the envelope if this is worthy most, almost all goes right in the recycle bin, it’s 2024 email me! If the sender doesn’t have my email, I SERIOUSLY doubt we have any business together. 20+ years and no repercussions so far, thanks to social media we all can be found.

Setting quarterly clean-outs on your calendar will relieve spaces of unused, broken, or damaged items. By removing the dirt and clutter, one will be able to experience the Positive energy the space has to offer.

With Feng Shui, you will realize there is a choice about what surrounds us. Letting go of items can be emotional. Use Feng Shui as a guide to letting go, here are some rules for the task:

  • One-year rule – If you haven’t used it in the last year you probably don’t need it.
  • Sentimental – If it makes you feel bad or sad, you should part with it.
  • Beautiful, Useful, Purposeful – If the object or item has one or all of these characteristics, you can keep it. In cases of multiple items in the same category, such as paintings or knives, sell /donate what isn’t needed.

When the task is complete, one can see what is gained by removing dirt and clutter. The journey to a balanced home and life is a process, following the simple rules will encourage the right environment for success. Last, but not least, remember to incorporate the same concept of ritual cleansing into yourself. After we have handled everyone’s problems, and cleaned the mess left behind it is time to take care of ourselves. We feel great after a shower or bath because we have removed the negative energy. Monthly if not weekly self-care days are vital to practicing a “Fengtioning” life. Pick your day and stick to it! Hair, skin, and teeth are the main areas I like to focus on my self-care day. Make it a must and you will feel a difference in your attitude even the attitudes of others as they also must allow you that space to be selfish. The better you feel the better those around you will feel. The key to Fengtion Better is to take care of yourself first, the rest will flow.
